If you haven’t figured it out yet… I’m Bridget 😊  Bridget Höpperger. Let’s not get stuck on the last name… it took me forever to learn how to pronounce it 😋

I hail from a little city at the most southern tip of Africa, you might have heard of it… it’s called Cape Town 🤩.  Just over 17 years ago, I had the wonderful idea to take a trip to sunny Switzerland (it’s not just snow, you know 😉) and decided I might hang around this beautiful country for a bit. Fast-forward a few years and I’m a married to an amazingly supportive husband and the mom to two crazy boys, which in a nutshell, is why my hair is going grey 🙄 My husband works for some obscure car company – no idea what they do! #gosauber 😜

We are relative newcomers to Glarus as we previously lived in Zürcher Oberland where I taught and tutored kids between the ages of three and sixteen. Needing more space in the summer of 2015, we packed up the kids and moved to Bilten, Glarus.

After a few years, I decided to turn my love for English and teaching into an actual job and completed my EFL qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in 2016. In August 2017, I started English-with-Bridget, ran my first Beginner Course and I’ve never looked back. Then in June 2022, I completed my CELTA qualification (Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults) and in August 2022, English-with-Bridget turned a ripe old age of five 🥳
